A Case of Reactive Lymphoreticular Hyperplasia of the Stomach

Abstract
Rapid improvement in diagnostic techniques was stimulated by the desire for early detection and arrest of gastric cancer which is one of most incident diseases in Korea.
The remarkable diagnostic procedures were gastrocamera and gastrofiberscope with biopsy and double contrast method of roentgenographic examination of the stomach.
The authors experienced a case of Reactive Lymphoreticular Hyperplasia (Pseudolymphoma) of the stomach which is known as a rare borderline benign tumor.
Distinction between benignity and malignancy in reactive lymphoreticular hyperplasia is difficult.
The lesion is well-defined with, surrounding ridge formation-and centrally depressed lesion (4.0 X 3.5 cm) and located on anterior of the gastric antrum.
The microscopic finding is suggested of reactive lymphoreticular hyperplasia(pseudolymphoma) as follow:
1. Presence of plasma cells, eosinophils, and normal lymphocytes suggested of inflammatory lesion.
2. Germinal center was not clear and some atypical reticulum cells were .appeared but Reed-Sternberg giant cell was not observed.
3. Chronic gastritis and fibroblastic changes on the mucosa and submucosal layers were seen. 4. Perigastric lymphnodes were not involved with malignant cell.
The post-operative course was, uneventful and the patient is doing good with social working during past twenty months period after surgery. A review of literature will be presented.
